Graduation is ridiculously close!

Senior tributes have begun for all the organizations I am apart of and I'm getting more and more emotional.

In just a few short weeks, I'll have to leave this place that has been programmed into my GPS as Home for the last 4 years.

Trust me, I'm excited about graduating but there is a lot about this process that makes it truly bittersweet.

In addition to the general comfortability I have developed at my second home, I think I will miss the friends I have made here the most.

Many of us will be spread across the country at various jobs and some of my younger friends will still be at school working towards their own bittersweet life event.

Despite all that makes this moment bittersweet, I am excited to have been able to be in this place.

I am proud of all the hard work I have put in here.

I am thankful for the friends I have made here.

I am challenged by the changes before me.

I am excited for the May 7th.

Graduation, here I come!!

Galatians 6:9

Galatians 6:9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

This scripture is truly helping me get through these last few weeks of the semester.

The truth is I'm extremely tired, like super-dee-duper tired.

It seems like professors take joy in putting all of our work at the end of the semester.

I have so many assignments, presentations, group projects and finals standing between me and graduation that it is hard for me to be happy about the monumental event that I've working for these last four years.

That's where Galatians 6:9 comes in. I have something to look forward to, a reason not to loose heart.

That reason will take place on Robert's Hall Lawn on Mary 7th.

Until then, I'll keep pressing toward the mark.

*Eeeekkk* I'm an adult!

The incoming Freshman class will graduate in 2020.

Let that sink in....

2020!!

The closer I get to graduation, the more I'm starting to feel how old I am.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing but it is quite a wake up call.

At this point, I am an adult but its hard to feel that way when I don't have any portion of my life after graduation settled.

There are plenty of my classmates who have a job secured, have signed for their first apartment and are ready to start living their new life after graduation.

Now that I'll be moving back home (even though it is temporary), it is difficult to see myself as an adult because I will still depending heavily on my parents.

At this point, I need an older adult, an adultier adult........at least for the time being.....

Yay me! *London Tipton Dance*

Spring Break has come and gone.

Just a few days after my return back to school, and Spring Break  feels like a distant memory.

Now, I have massive amounts of work and just a few short weeks before graduation.

For the first time, since my Senior year has begun I''m starting to get happy about graduating.

I'm not happy about leaving the place I have called home for 4 years or the friends that I have met here but I am excited to finally feel like I am making progress towards having a definite answer about what I am doing after graduation.

After 9 days of Spring Break, 4 versions of my resume, 2 versions of my cover letter, multiple job descriptions and 1 interview, I feel like Ryan Gosling has made a personal appearance to tell me:

Yes to adulting!

I am so happy that I stayed focused and executed my plan to start the job application process over Spring Break.

Although it sucked watching all of my friends having adventures in tropical locations, adulting was much more important in this case.

I know there is still plenty of work to do and these next few weeks will probably be the hardest of my college career as I balance school, work, clubs and organizations, job applications and having somewhat of a social life.

Cheers to the next few weeks! Who knows what they will bring?

A Step In The Right Direction

So it my life still kinda feels like this:

I'm really just a kid who is trying to figure out what adulting is and exactly how to do it

But I can say that recently, I made a step in the right direction.

I attended the Career Expo at my school. For the first time since I started my senior year of college, I finally feel like I am planning towards my future. My motivation is at an all time high and I'm ready to spend my Spring Break applying to jobs, networking and searching through LinkedIn.

Here's to the future!

Lost in Life (at 21)?

I came to HPU with a clear goal of where I wanted to be after I graduated but I also gave myself plenty of options just in case plan A didn't work out.

The Problem?

Plan A, Plan B, Plan C and Plan D are simultaneously great options.

To most people this sounds great but for my Type A personality it has put me in a bit of a frenzy.

I don't know which option is the best and it has truly caused me a lot of anxiety as I try to figure out my next move in life.

Thankfully, Buzzfeed came to my rescue.

This basic chart reminded me that I don't have to have it all together right now. Even if I choose the wrong option initially, there is always a possibility of starting over and choosing the right option.

For the time being, I'm not going to stress.

Instead, I'll use that energy to work on updating my LinkedIn, reformatting my resume and applying to jobs.

One Hundred Forty-One Thousand One Hundred Twenty Minutes (141,120 minutes)

14 Weeks.

98 Days.

That's all the time I have to get my life together,

To figure out how to adult.....

This is how its looking right about now:

May 07, 2016 is the day I g-, gr- (I still can't say the G word).

May 07, 2016 if the day I will walk across the stage in a cap and gown and become a full fledged adult.

To say the least, I'm not quite prepared for it.

For as long as I can remember, the goal was always to get to college.

And then I got here and my goal was to finish college.

Now, I can't believe that 4 years could possibly go by this fast and it is truly bittersweet that my time at  my extraordinary university is coming to an end.

I'm sure that I will feel better about adulting once I know that plan for after I enter the "real world"  but right now I have too many options.

Too many options and a lot of fear.

What if I don't get hired?

What if I can't pay my school loans?

What if I have to move back home after school?

These are the questions that are constantly rolling through my head.

For a little while, I gave into these fears and felt my motivation disappear.

But I refuse to let that happen anymore.

I am more motivated than ever to get my plan for May 08, 2016 in place

This blog is a record of the journey I am making towards the rest of my life.
